Michael Murphy is courting controversy.
The Middletown native, who last week wrapped up Connecticut filming on his first full-length feature, "Six Niggaz in a Cadillac," said the title is intentionally provocative. He hopes it starts a dialogue about the use of the word. Murphy grew up in Middletown, Connecticut and attended Xavier and Cromwell high schools. He moved to Los Angeles in the early 1990s and studied film at Columbia College, graduating in 1994. He worked on low- budget films and TV projects but wanted to direct. So he moved home and finished the script for "Cadillac."
